The jar of dirt was hysterical. I never entirely figured out how it was supposed to help. I know Davy Jones can't set foot on land, but how would a jar of dirt help? Surely he could just reach in and get it.

Yeah, me neither... Well, at least they got several funny scenes out of it :) Whee! I'm gonna see the movie tomorrow afternoon with my little brother. He's a big fan of Captain Jack, so it'll be fun to see the movie with someone who feels the same way I do.

The ones at Tia Dalma's place? Well, I think the ring was just a red herring, you know, Jack just took it so we'd see that shot of the locket on the table. It's identical (?) to the one Davy Jones has. I wonder what that could mean.... I'm sure Tia Dalma is connected to Jones somehow. Could it be that she's the woman he fell in love with? I'm not sure I believe that but they definitely have something to do with each other. And you can even hear Davy Jone's theme in the song 'Tia Dalma', though it's played a little slower.

Yeah, my friends and I were debating the same thing , whether she's the woman or whether she's connected in some other way. I didn't notice the similarity in the themes, though. I love that soundtrack!

I don't think the ring was a blind. I think it was a ring worn by Barbossa. I need to go back to the first one and check to confirm my theory.

Now, that's interesting, the bit about the ring! I think you could be right. And a lot of people think Tia Dalma could be the woman Davy Jones loved, but I've also heard that in early versions of the script for the third film it was supposed to be the legendary sea nymph Calypso. But I think they've changed the script several times afrer that.

Okay, I'm going to ask that if you hear any spoilers about the movie, stuff you haven't figured out yourself, that you not tell me. I don't want the third movie ruined. That said, I've even heard rumors about a fourth and fifth, but I'm not sure if I believe it.
